Saulo Carneiro is graduate and PhD in Physics at University of São Paulo (São Paulo, Brazil), with a pos-doc in this same institution. He was visiting professor at CSIC (Madrid, Spain) for two years, at Queen Mary University of London (London, UK) for a year, and at ICTP (Trieste, Italy) where he was Associate Member for seven years. In 2009 he was awarded the 2nd prize in the Gravity Research Foundation annual prizes. He was member of the Particle Physics Committee of the Brazilian Physical Society, Scientific Director of the government agency Foundation for Scientific Research of State of Bahia (Salvador, Brazil), and head of the General Physics Department of the Federal University of Bahia, where he is Full Professor and leader of the Gravitation & Cosmology group. He is fellow of CNPq - the Brazilian Council for Scientific Research, member of the Brazilian/Spanish astronomical survey J-PAS, and Professor at PPGCosmo - International PhD in Astrophysics, Cosmology and Gravitation of the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Vitória, Brazil). His present research is mainly focused on the theory and observations of the dark sector of the Universe, particularly on cosmological models with interacting dark components.
