    Raul Abramo was an undergraduate student at the Universidade de S?o Paulo, and earned his Ph. D. in Physics from Brown University (1997).

    He was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Florida and at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universit?t (Munich, Germany), and a visiting fellow at Princeton University and at the University of Pennsylvania. Presently he is an Associate Professor (III) of Physics at the Departamento de Física Matemática, Instituto de Física, Universidade de S?o Paulo. He initially worked on quantum effects in the early Universe, inflation and cosmological perturbations. More recently his area of interest has shifted towards phenomenological and observational aspects of cosmology and astrophysics, especially those related to astrophysical surveys. Current topics of research include structure formation in the Universe, Astrostatistics, galaxy clusters, quasars, dark matter and dark energy.
